15/09/2020 - Principle Build Contractor Award for the Refurbishment of The Former Sea Mills Children’s Centre. ref: 872 Recommendations Approved
On7th May 2019 ‘ Cabinet delegated
authority to the Executive Director of People in consultation with
the Executive Director of Growth and Regeneration, to take all
necessary steps to procure and deliver (a) the refurbishment of the
Former Sea Mills Children Centre, and (b) operation of the Centre
and the delivery of all associated services.’

Enter into a contract with Kier Ltd via the
SCAPE Minor Works Framework, to refurbish the Former Sea Mills
Children Centre to provide assisted Independent Living
Accommodation’ for social rent for young adults who have a
range of complex care needs.

02/04/2020 - Purchase racking for deceased people at the Temporary Resting Place at Sandy Park. ref: 870 Recommendations Approved
A temporary resting place was set up at Sandy
Park to accommodate the significant additional number of deaths
predicated in the Covid 19 pandemic.
Refrigerated storage units were hired, which required internal
racking to be used as a resting place. Racking on which to place
deceased people was purchased.

Decision:
To purchase racking for six refrigerated
containers at Sandy Park Temporary Resting Place on which to place
deceased people. The racking allowed each of the 40ft containers to
hold 50 deceased people.

27/04/2020 - Purchase 6,000 body bags for Flax Bourton Mortuary during the Covid 19 pandemic ref: 869 Recommendations Approved
Body bags are used by the Flax Bourton Public
and Forensic mortuary in usual operation in certain circumstances.
During the Covid 19 pandemic, the mortuary deceased resting place
capacity was increased to accommodate the anticipated additional
deceased. Deceased people at the mortuary would be resting in a
different environment where the use of body bags would be
appropriate. Body bags were in short supply and so a substantial
stock was purchased. If they are not needed, they will be stored
and used over subsequent years.

consolidation. The grant is one of a number of projects to be
delivered via the Go Ultra Low West (GULW) programme, funded by the
Office of Low Emission Vehicles.
